Alpine Village, Chalets, Sainte Foy

Sainte-Foy is a true French Alpine village in the Tarentaise Valley in the heart of the Alps. Nestled on the wooded, sunny slopes of the Isere Valley, midway between the resorts of Val d'Isère/Tignes and Les Arcs, it is also not far from La Rosiere, La Plagne and the Three Valleys.

Sainte-Foy is 'an uncrowded gem with some wonderful off-piste slopes' (Where to Ski and Snowboard 2005). Only developed since 1991, it has built a deserved reputation as the best kept secret in the Alps.

Our chalets completed in 2005, are situated on the edge of the piste, less than 50 metres from the main chair lift of Sainte-Foy ‘ski station’ (altitude 1550 metres). All essential facilities are nearby or in the ski station centre just a very short walk away.

More bars, restaurants and cafes can be found in the main village of Sainte-Foy as well as the other neighbouring villages.

It's worth booking Chez Marie, in Le Miroir, for a good meal out - it has been described as one of the best restaurants in the Alps.

La Maison a Colonnes, Les Brevettes, Chalet La Foglietta, La Pitchoulie, Restaurant Le Bec De L'ane, Chez Alison, Chez Leon, Restaurant La Grange, Restaurant La Bergerie, Bar Restaurant La Becqua, Chez Merie

Les Balmes
Les Balmes is perfectly situated at the top of the nursery slope and at the base of the final run. At the end of a fantastic day, ski right up to your private covered area with access to your chalet.

The porch is perfect for your very own ‘apres ski’ with it’s large seating area and table, as well as the sumptuous heated ‘hot tub’...bliss!

Entering the chalet, via the undercover area, you will step into the hallway/lobby. The natural hardwood kitchen is immediately to your right, fitted with everything you will need from a corkscrew to a cafetierre.

Electrical fittings include;
Ceramic hob, microwave, dishwasher, large dual width fan oven, kettle, toaster, fridge and a freezer, with a separate washing machine and tumble dryer.

Dining area, Lounge area, Balcony, Bedroom 1, Bedrooms 2/3/4, Sauna, Private cave / Boot room, Garage and log store

La Cascadé
La Cascadé is finished to the same exquisite level as the adjoining Chalet Les Balmes and offers the same ‘ski to your door’ accomodation.

The chalet has it’s own individual access via a private entrance and hallway. The properties can easily be connected (for parties booking both apartments) via the adjoining door/s in the living areas.

Summer in Sainte-Foy
The French Alps are proving to be one of the fastest growing summer holiday destinations.

Unlike some ski resorts - in the summer the pistes above Sainte-Foy revert back to green pasture and it is a tranquil, beautiful place to relax and enjoy the spectacular scenery. It is surrounded by the Vanoise National Park - one of the most prestigious in France - and the Grand Paradis National Park. Walk around the chalet through larch forests, alpine meadows, historic villages and numerous mountain lakes - watching out for ibex, chamois, marmots and eagles.

Your chalet has a list, and contacts for all of the summer activities available.

Skiers, boarders and telemarkers alike will revel in the powder just yards from the pistes or amongst the trees, which lasts for days thanks to its north-west facing slopes.

Take a guide to explore one of the renowned off-piste routes to the deserted farming hamlet of Le Monal, or the infamous 1700 m vertical descent of the north face of Fogliettaz.

The slopes of Les Combes can be reached from the top of the second chairlift.

Ski and snowboard hire
There is two good hire shops in the resort, just 100m from the chalet, who should be able to cater for all your needs and both speak English.

Nearby resorts
Val d'Isere and Tignes are a mere 20 minute drive away whilst Villaroger (for Les Arcs and La Plagne) is 15 minutes. 20 minutes away is the village of Seez which is in the La Rosiere lift system and thus linked to La Thuile in Italy.
